Many of us in the gaming community like to play FPS games. Among these games there is a “special one”, called Rainbow Six Siege.I think the majority knows the basic aspects of this game, so now I would like to go a little bit “deeper” and talk about the Rainbow Six Siege ranks.
What’s ranked in Rainbow Six Siege and how does it work?
First of all, the player has to reach level 30 to get access to this PvP mode. After that, below the “Casual” the player can start his first “Ranked” game and after 10 ranked games (also called placement matches) the player will get his first Rainbow Six Siege rank.
This mode is very similar to “Casual”. It has almost the same maps, objectives, but in plus it has a ban system.
Ban system? What do you mean by that?
It’s very simple. Both teams at the start of the game can choose, by voting, to “ban” (a banned operator cannot be chosen in that ranked game) 1 defender and 1 attacker. After this “phase”, the game begins.
Can we ban maps too? Or that’s randomly chosen from all of the maps?
No, unfortunately you can’t choose which map to play on or to ban a map. Rainbow Six Siege’s ranked maps are randomly chosen from the “map pool”. In this, there are currently 14 maps (in Casual there are 20).
Here’s the list:
1. Oregon
2. Hereford Base
3. Club House
4. Consulate
5. Bank
6. Chalet
7. Kafe Dostoyevsky
8. Border
9. Skyscraper
10. Coastline
11. Theme Park
12. Villa
13. Fortress
14. Outback
This will be changed in Operation Ember Rise, the new operation of Rainbow Six Siege. Kanal will be reworked and 3 maps will be taken out from the map pool: Theme Park, Fortress, and Hereford Base.
You mentioned “ranks”. What are they?
Ranks are derived from numerical scores generated by the TrueSkill algorithm, which was developed by Microsoft. These are the current Rainbow Six Siege ranks:
• Copper 4,3,2,1 ( 4 is the “worst” and 1 is the “best”, this is true for all of the ranks)
• Bronze 4,3,2,1
• Silver 4,3,2,1
• Gold 4,3,2,1
• Platinum 3,2,1
• Diamond (this is the highest rank currently)
My recommendation is that don’t play until you have map knowledge, know how each operator works and you have proper aim and shooting skills (drop shooting for example), because if you don’t, you may end up in Copper or Bronze and it’s very hard to climb out of there without a premade team, because of the trolling, toxic players and the lack of info given to you and to your teammates. If you manage to reach Silver (or that’s where you got from your placements) with a little bit of luck you can easily climb up to Gold 3-2, just by playing.
But what if I’m stuck and I can’t get a better rank than my current one?
Well then this option is for you: purchase a Rainbow Six Siege rank boost (simply just a boost). A Diamond Rainbow Six Siege player will get the desired rank on your account.
And where can I get this boost for the best price?

Now let’s get back into the Rainbow Six Siege ranks. Thanks to Ubisoft, in the next operation we will get a new rank, which will be above Diamond, called Champions.
The top 9999 players in this category will get individual rank numbers. I
f you want to read all of the new changes coming in September check Ubisoft’s official website.
How can I get better ranks in Rainbow Six Siege?
It’s very simple. You just have to play Ranked. In your first games you will get +90 MMR if you win (your rank will go up by one, because usually it takes 100-90 MMR to rank up, for example if I’m Silver 1 and I win my first game after the placements I will be Gold 1. If I lose after that I will be Silver 1 again) and -90 MMR if you lose. This will drop to +/-60 after playing some games. Also worth knowing that the score at the end of the game or your K/D won’t affect the MMR you will get after the game.
Can I play Ranked with my friends?
Yes of course. In Operation Phantom Sight even a Copper 4 player can play with a Diamond player. This will be changed in the next operation, by Ubisoft, so if 2 players’ MMR difference is more than 1000 they can’t start a Ranked game together. For example, a Gold 1 player will not be able to play with a Diamond player. Why is this good? Because if a Copper player starts a match with a Diamond player and they win, in the enemy, due to the matchmaking system there will be some Diamond/Platinum players too, this allowing the Copper player to get more MMR than usually, and the enemy Diamond/Platinum players to lose more MMR.
But why is this good? Why should I play ranked?
Here are a few reasons to play ranked and get a better rank:
1. At the end of the season (operation) each player that had a rank gets a reward based on his highest rank achieved in that season. These rewards are usually charms, with the color representing the players rank.
2. Ranked games give more renown (double the amount of a Casual game).
3. Higher ranked players are more approved. Many high ranked players stream at Twitch.tv or at other streaming platforms (such as YouTube).
4. If you are very good in this game you can even get into a pro team and play in the ProLeague.
